Bio

I’ve loved movies for as long as I can remember. My family owned a million VHSs, then a million DVD’s, then a million Blu-rays, then a million digital film files, and now we have a million streaming services. We rarely went to movie theaters when I was young. As a family of six, it was a pricey adventure. Every time we did go, it was amazing. The lights would dim, and the screen would glow. The speakers were so powerful they vibrated the seats. Every pair of eyes in the theater were glued to the screen, taking in the spectacle. It was my paradise. After the credits rolled and the lights came up, we would discuss the movie on the drive home. I loved talking about movies almost as much as I loved watching them.

When I realized I was a queer, movies helped me process my experience. I was constantly watching movies in the Netflix Gay & Lesbian Section, a section which has since been replaced with the LGBTQ+ tag. Queer films helped open the door to deeper understandings of my own identity and taught me how to share it with others. Movies helped me process my world and connect with those around me. Reviews are an expression of my gratitude.

I learned to knit in kindergarten and crochet in high school. For a kid with undiagnosed ADHD, it was the perfect outlet for hyperactivity. To this day, I never sit down to watch a movie without a project to keep me focused.
